Mom, I hope to hear your voice calling UU as you fondly called me. I know you can feel my pain, and don’t want me to cry, yet my heart is so broken. I wish you could be alive one more time as I can’t understand why an amazing person like you, who loves & cares so much for others, had to go so early.

You were an inspiring soul, always there for all, your home was open to everyone. Your kindness inspired me in so many ways, you were a precious gift from God, with so much beauty, grace and love you possessed. Your great sense of humour, stories and jokes made us laugh so hard. You always light the room.

I could never question your love for our family because you made it clear and was very intentional. You loved, protected and provided for our families. Family meant everything to you. You were the candle that lit a lot of other candles, you believed in the intrinsic value of relationship, very courageous, could confidently confront or speak to anybody irrespective of class or status.

I, Kate, Jayden and Jeremy will always miss you. The time we shared meant so much to me and my family, we had lots of fun, making special native meals for me when returning from work, taking care of our boys when my wife was in school, and I’ll be away at work for days, weeks and months, you took good care of everything for us at home. We argued about politics, debated various topics which were always very interesting, I always looked forward to having those great moments with you. You were more than a mother-in-law, you’re a best friend and a second mother to me.

If true character is the ultimate yardstick used in accessing paradise, then I have no doubt in my mind that you have a seat at the table. It’s hard to say goodbye, but I submit to the will of Almighty God as He decided to call you home now. You were a shining light, we will hold you forever in our hearts. We will always love you. Sleep well mom till we meet again.

Your memory and legacy will live on… May your generous, sweet, loving soul rest in perfect peace.

You were an inspiring soul, always there for all, your home was open to everyone.
