Writing a tribute for Aunty Helen this soon wasn’t a task anyone could have seen coming. Everything still feels so very unreal.
Today we register a tribute to a woman whose warmth and camaraderie clearly marked our lives from our childhood until the very end of her time with us. Aunty was always on hand whether it be to counsel, to encourage, to felicitate with or to mourn with our family. In her presence you were always guaranteed to get a dose of originality and liberty. Fearless yet measured in her approach. A forever optimist, Aunty had a way of seeing a sliver of light and hope in the midst of a rather dark situation. In the radiance of her light some of us discovered paths of hope.
Aunty you will be sorely missed. We commit you to the bosom of the Lord until we meet again.
